What We Do

Food banks are centralized warehouses that store and distribute donated and purchased perishable and nonperishable food items. Food banks make food available for other 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations serving the ill, needy or infants. They may also distribute food directly to low-income people. Food banks work to reduce food waste, feed hungry people and raise public awareness of issues related to hunger.

For every $1 you
donate, Northern
California Food
Banks helps provide
10 pounds of food
and grocery products to men,
women and children facing hunger
in our area. Donate now.
